O'Leary was thrust into the middle of controversy on Thursday for reported inaccuracies in his biography that appeared in the football media guide at Georgia Tech, where O'Leary had been the coach for eight seasons.

The biography states that O'Leary earned three letters while playing football at the University of New Hampshire, but he attended the school only two years and never played in a game.

Notre Dame included the information in its news release announcing O'Leary's hiring.
