Calgary 4, Dallas 3

DALLAS, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Roman Turek, after missing three games with a knee injury, returned and stopped 25 shots Friday night to lead the Calgary Flames to a 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars.

Turek, who served as the backup to Ed Belfour when the Stars won the Stanley Cup in 1999, improved to 9-1-3 against Dallas, including playoffs, since his trade to St. Louis in time for the 1999-2000 season.

Pat Verbeek and Benoit Brunet scored in the first 9:02 for Dallas before Turek settled down and the Flames scored four unanswered goals.

Chris Clark cut the lead to 2-1 midway though the first period. Dean McAmmond and Marc Savard scored in the second to make it 3-1 before Rob Niedermayer appeared to ice the game with a goal at 16:47 of the third.
