LOS ANGELES, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Roman Turek made 26 saves for his fourth shutout of the season as the Calgary Flames snapped a seven-game winless skid with a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings Monday night.

Turek stopped four shots in the first period, 17 in the second and five in the third for his 19th career shutout. But the win was his and Calgary's first since a 2-0 triumph over the St. Louis Blues on Nov. 17.

Jeff Cowan provided the only goal Turek and the Flames needed at 15:38 of the first period and Jarome Iginla notched his 23rd of the season with an empty-net goal with 71 seconds left.

Felix Potvin turned aside 18-of-19 shots but Los Angeles fell to 2-2 on its five-game homestand. The Kings played without All-Star right wing Ziggy Palffy, who suffered a chest contusion during Sunday's 4-2 win over the Nashville Predators.
