Boston Col. 83, Michigan 74

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Ryan Sidney had a triumphant homecoming Saturday, posting career highs with 29 points and 15 rebounds, to lead 15th-ranked Boston College to an 83-74 victory over Michigan.

The 6-2 sophomore, who went to Pioneeer High School in Ann Arbor, scored 17 points in the first half when Boston College held a 42-38 lead.

Sidney made 12 of 28 shots, including three of six from three-point range, as Boston College (5-0) won for the second time in three all-time matchups with Michigan. Troy Bell, the Big East Preseason Player of the Year and Sidney's backcourt partner, had 28 points and four assists in 40 minutes.

Chris Young and reserve freshman Dommanic Ingerson each scored 16 points for Michigan (2-3), which shot just 35 percent in the second half.
