OTTAWA, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Patrick Lalime made 26 saves for his third shutout of the season Tuesday night as the Ottawa Senators extended their unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 3-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
Lalime stretched his personal unbeaten run to six games (5
1) and recorded his 16th career shutout. He is perfect in four career starts against Vancouver.
The Senators are 9
1 during their streak, outscoring opponents 41-15 in that span. They are one game short of tying the best unbeaten streak in franchise history.
Defenseman Sami Salo, Mike Fisher and Daniel Alfredsson scored for the Senators. Salo scored the only goal Lalime needed on a delayed penalty 6:37 into the first period. Alfredsson centered a pass to Salo in the slot, where he put a wrist shot past goaltender Dan Cloutier.
The Canucks pulled Cloutier, who allowed three goals on 14 shots, in favor of Peter Skudra after Alfredsson scored midway through the third period.
