Calgary 2, Colorado 0

CALGARY, Alberta, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Roman Turek grabbed a share of the NHL lead with his third shutout and Jarome Iginla scored his league-leading 14th goal as the Calgary Flames extended their unbeaten streak to six games Saturday night with a 2-0 blanking of the defending Stanley Cup champions Colorado Avalanche.

Turek stopped 36 shots and benefited from a favorable video review to tie Edmonton's Tommy Salo and Chris Osgood of the New York Islanders for the top spot.

Turek was locked in a scoreless duel with Patrick Roy with just over 12 minutes left in the second period when Colorado captain Joe Sakic deflected a shot off teammate Steven Reinprecht and into the net.

The video replay official ruled that Reinprecht directed the puck with his hand, but other replays showed the puck actually caromed in off his helmet.

Just over eight minutes later, defenseman Denis Gauthier wristed a shot from above the left faceoff circle past a screened Roy, who barely moved.

Iginla gave Turek some breathing room with 3:53 left in the third period. Dean McAmmond made a behind-the-back pass from the left circle and Iginla turned in the slot before whipping a shot by Roy to extend his points streak to 11 games.

The Avalanche pulled Roy for an extra attacker in the final minute, but Turek stopped a blast from the point by defenseman Rob Blake and extended his left arm to deny Reinprecht on the rebound with 27 seconds to play.

Playing without injured regulars Alex Tanguay and Dan Hinote, Colorado had its winless streak reach six games (0-5-1). It's their longest stretch without a victory since an 0-3-4 slide from Feb. 9-25, 1999.
