Ottawa 1, Colorado 0

OTTAWA, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Martin Havlat scored with 2:41 remaining and Patrick Lalime posted his second straight shutout as the Ottawa Senators tied a team record Thursday night with their fifth consecutive win, 1-0 over the Colorado Avalanche.

Just over two minutes after Ottawa had an apparent go-ahead goal disallowed, Havlat weaved his way through the Colorado zone. He curled at the top of the right faceoff circle and moved to the edge of the slot before snapping a wrist shot past goaltender Patrick Roy's glove.

Havlat extended his goal-scoring streak to three games and moved into a tie for the league lead with his fourth game-winner.

Lalime made 21 saves for his 15th career shutout and second in six days. He faced just two shots in the opening period and none over the first 10 minutes but was a little busier over the final 40 minutes.

His best stop came during a power play with 13 ½ minutes to go in the second period when he gloved Chris Drury's slap shot from the top of the left faceoff circle.

Roy failed again in a bid to become the first goalie in NHL history to win 200 games with two different teams. He turned aside 30 shots but could not prevent the Avalanche from having their winless streak reach five games (0-4-1).
