Nashville 6, Minnesota 4

ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Kimmo Timonen scored twice and Mike Dunham made 13 saves Wednesday night as the Nashville Predators scored twice in each period en route to a 6-4 victory over the struggling Minnesota Wild.

Timonen, who also scored in Tuesday's home loss to Minnesota, widened Nashville's lead to two goals with each score.

Timonen scored the first goal 10:21 into the second period as he took a pass from Vitali Yachmenev in the low slot and put it past Minnesota's Manny Fernandez.

The goal came five minutes after the Wild had tied it, 2-2, and three minutes after Cliff Ronning put the Predators ahead for good.

Timonen's second goal came late in the third period and put the Predators ahead, 5-3. He corraled the rebound of Yachmenev's shot and put the puck past Fernandez from the right faceoff circle.

Dunham faced just 17 shots because Nashville controlled the puck in Minnesota's zone for the majority of the game. The Predators also got production from all four of their lines as they responded each time the Wild got within one goal.
