Minnesota 66, Murray St. 10

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Asad Abdul-Khalig threw three touchdown passes Saturday as Minnesota set a school record for points in a game with a 66-10 demolition of Division I-AA Murray State.

Khaliq had touchdown passes of 16, one and 15 yards as the Golden Gophers rolled up 565 yards of offense.

Minnesota's previous best point total came in a 62-17 rout of Montana on Sept. 21, 1985.

Khaliq threw two of his touchdown passes and Tellis Redmon had scoring runs of five and 71 yards, helping the Golden Gophers (3-4) race to a 35-10 halftime advantage.

Redmon led the ground game, carrying 10 times for 108 yards. Thomas Tapeh and Marion Barber III also ran for scores for Minnesota, which amassed 300 yards rushing.

Shane Andrus kicked a 22-yard field goal and Stewart Childress scored on a one-yard run for Murray State (3-4), which managed 371 total yards.
