A free throw by Ryan Bowen opened the fourth and triggered a 7-0 surge that gave the Nuggets (2-5) the lead for good. Denver outscored Chicago in the final quarter, 25-11.

Johnson was the only other Nugget in double figures with 10 points while Posey also grabbed nine rebounds. Denver, which snapped a five-game losing streak, held a 41-32 rebounding edge.

Former Nugget Ron Mercer led Chicago (2-5) with 26 points while offseason acquisition Eddie Robinson chipped in with 12. Center Brad Miller suffered through a three-of-12 shooting night and scored just seven points for the Bulls, who lost their fifth straight game.

Prominent rookies on both teams did not see action. First-round draft selections Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler sat out for Chicago while rookies Kenny Satterfield and Omar Cook did not play for the Nuggets.
