Washington 105, New Jersey 92

GREENVILLE, S.C., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Michael Jordan had 27 points and 10 rebounds and the Washington Wizards used a late run to post a 105-92 exhibition victory Tuesday night over the New Jersey Nets.

It was the second straight game against New Jersey in which Jordan has played well. In a loss Saturday, the returning superstar had 41 points in 33 minutes.

Tuesday, he took over with just under three minutes left. With the Wizards up, 96-90, Jordan made the first of his three consecutive 17-footers that extended Washington's lead from six to 12 points.

Richard Hamilton had another solid effort for Washington (2-4), scoring 23 points on 10-of-19 shooting. He had 21 in a loss to Philadelphia on Monday.

New Jersey (3-3) was led by Keith Van Horn, who had 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting. Newcomer Todd MacCulloch added 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting.

Washington was without rookie forward Brendan Haywood, who missed the game with torn right thumb ligaments.
