SYRACUSE, N.Y., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- R.J. Anderson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another Saturday as Syracuse rolled into its biggest game of the season with a 45-3 Big East Conference rout of Temple.

Anderson also ran six yards for a score just over three minutes into the game, triggering a 21-point first quarter. He led an offense that amassed 471 yards.

The Orangemen (6-2, 3-0 Big East) beat the Owls (2-4, 1-2) for the 16th straight time. They have won six straight games since opening the season with losses to Georgia Tech and Tennessee and remained perfect in the league, setting up next week's showdown at unbeaten Virginia Tech.

Temple lost for the fourth time in five games. It averted the shutout with Cap Poklemba's 42-yard field goal in the third quarter but managed just 185 yards.

Between Anderson's touchdown run and his scoring toss to Morant, Chris Davis ran one yard for a score, allowing the Orangemen to open a 21-0 lead less than nine minutes into the contest.

Riddle caught four passes for 120 yards and Morant added three for 77. Diamond Ferri rushed for 60 yards on 10 carries for Syracuse.
