Toronto 4, Edmonton 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Shayne Corson and Jonas Hoglund scored shorthanded goals and the Toronto Maple Leafs killed all seven power plays Tuesday night en route to a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers, who had a five-game unbeaten streak snapped.

Edmonton owns one of the NHL's worst power plays this season at 4-for-41 and coughed up two goals while working with the man advantage against Toronto.

Corson broke a scoreless tie 7:55 into the second period. With 16 seconds left on teammate Dmitry Yushkevich's hooking penalty, Darcy Tucker stole the puck from Rem Murray at the side of the net and centered to Corson. Tommy Salo stopped the first shot but kicked the rebound back to Corson, who slid the puck under the goaltender for his second goal of the season.

Less than a minute later, Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin drew two defenders while driving down the left side. While warding off Todd Marchant, he made a one-handed pass to Mikael Renberg, who broke down the slot and flicked the puck past Salo for his second goal.

Tucker made it 4-0 just 80 seconds into the third period and Salo was replaced by rookie Ty Conklin moments later after giving up four goals on 21 shots.

Toronto's Curtis Joseph made 15 saves to improve to 16-3-2 against his former team and helped the Maple Leafs remain unbeaten on the road at 2
