ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- In his final tuneup for the playoffs, Tim Hudson allowed a run in six innings Friday night to give the Oakland Athletics their 100th victory of the season, a 6-2 decision over the Anaheim Angels.

Hudson (18-9) allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out six as he raised his lifetime record to 8-1 against the Angels in 10 starts, including a 5-0 mark with a 1.86 ERA this season.

Jermaine Dye and Eric Chavez drove in a pair of runs and Ramon Hernandez hit his 15th homer in the second inning.

Angels starter Ramon Ortiz (13-11) allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings. The 25-year-old righthander walked four, struck out three and lost for the third time in his last four starts.

Oakland's 100 victories are their most since 1990, when they won 103 games.
