LM contracts Harris to support WIN-T

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Lockheed Martin has awarded a contract update to Harris Corp. to continue supporting the U.S. Army's Warfighter Information Network-Tactical program.

U.S. company Harris was awarded the follow-on contract to continue its wireless networking technology development services for the Lockheed Martin WIN-T team.

Harris, which recently marked testing and evaluation milestones for the WIN-T program, will continue development of line-of-sight radio system component including the highband digital transceiver modem hardware among others under Increment three of the program.

"Harris has been on the Lockheed Martin WIN-T team since 2002 and continues to be a valued and critical team member on both Increment two and Increment three," Amy Krause, Lockheed Martin WIN-T portfolio manager, said in a statement.

"Lockheed Martin looks forward to continuing to work with Harris in support of WIN-T new business in 2009 and beyond."
