PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. company SAM Medical Products announced the launch of its new gauze designed to control traumatic bleeding in emergency response combat situations.
SAM has released its new Celox Trauma Gauze that can be used to help combat medical authorities control bleeding. The Celox gauze, launched at the Defense Department's Advanced Technology Applications for Combat Casualty Care meeting, can also help protect first- and second-degree burns.
According to a news release, Celox was "designed to effectively meet the needs of the armed forces and emergency services personnel who are often working in the field with limited medical supplies."
SAM says its Celox is part of an effort to offer a dual-purpose trauma gauze that could replaces multiple products used in the field.
