RESTON, Va., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Northrop Grumman to support the Defense Department and federal agencies with computer and engineering services.
U.S. company Northrop Grumman was selected along with four other defense contractors to compete for task orders as part of the Automatic Identification Technology-IV indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract.
Under the deal worth $418.5 million in awards for the five companies, Northrop Grumman with provide the Defense Department and federal agency logistics systems with AIT hardware, software and engineering services including mobile computers and technical engineering support among other requirements.
"Northrop Grumman has more than 20 years of experience delivering complete AIT solutions to the Defense Department and federal government integrating legacy systems with AIT, and deploying new AIT, item unique identification and radio frequency identification technologies," Ken Lehman, Northrop Grumman Information Systems vice president of Identity Management, said in a statement.
