BENNINGTON, Vt., Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Plasan has received a follow-on subcontract to deliver additional armor kits for the U.S. Army's mine resistant ambush protected All-Terrain Vehicle.
U.S. company Plasan was awarded the deal from M-ATV prime contractor Oshkosh Defense. As part of the follow-on award, Plasan will deliver an additional 1,700 armor kits for the Army's M-ATVs.
The M-ATV is an armor protected vehicle designed to improve maneuverability for troops operating in Afghanistan's rugged terrain.
"We are continuing our efforts to expand our supply chain capacity and integrate more subcontractors to be ready to ramp up deliveries," Dan Ziv, Plasan chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"The M-ATV is the latest example of Plasan's design and planning capabilities for mass production solutions for survivability and armor protection."
