Homeland Security Dept. selects SRA

FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Homeland Security Department has selected SRA International Inc. to compete for task orders supporting emergency preparedness programs.

U.S. company SRA announced it was selected for a National Communications System's National Security and Emergency Preparedness Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance contract.

Under the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, worth $388.9 million in awards for the four awardees selected, SRA will compete for task orders supporting national security and emergency preparedness programs. Officials say SRA will provide emergency communications solutions and other solutions as part of the deal.

"For over 30 years, SRA has been at the forefront of emergency preparedness and response," Pat Burke, SRA National Security Sector senior vice president, said in a statement.

"We look forward to a strong partnership with National Communications System and joining their work to ensure reliable emergency preparedness communication."
