LENOIR CITY, Tenn., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- British defense authorities have contracted EOD Technology Inc. to provide British troops in Afghanistan with mine action services.
U.S. company EODT announced it has received a $2.4 million contract from British defense officials to support the British military operations in Afghanistan's eastern Logar province.
As part of the deal, EODT will provide mine action services for the British operations in the region referred to as Operation Herrick. The mine services are expected to include technical land surveys and battlefield area clearance operations among other requirements.
"Our mine action program continues to grow as satisfied clients award us repeat business," Matt Kaye, EODT president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"We have held several contracts with the British Embassy and military, and these additional contract wins are a testament to the effectiveness of our demining and support capabilities."
