EVERETT, Wash., July 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has contracted Intermec Inc. to provide asset tracking, inventory control, and warehousing support.
Washington state's Intermec was awarded the contract from the Army Contracting Command. Officials say Intermec was selected along with other companies to support the Defense Department's Automatic Identification Technology IV indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract.
Under the agreement, Intermec will provide AIT services including asset tracking, inventory control and automated warehousing support among other requirements.
"The AIT-IV contract award marks Intermec's continued commitment as a trusted supplier to the Defense Department," Pat Byrne, Intermec president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"It is a direct result of Intermec's products and services and further solidifies our standing as a leading provider of the AIT solutions to the Defense Department."
