SAN DIEGO, July 15 (UPI) -- U.S. company Lockheed Martin has been contracted to continue development of its multinational information-sharing technology.
Lockheed Martin was awarded an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract from the Navy. Under the deal, Lockheed Martin will continue to enhance its Radiant Mercury cross-domain solution.
Used by U.S. intelligence agencies and the Defense Department among other international partners, the Radiant Mercury network-encryption system is designed to protect classified and sensitive data and secure critical information sharing.
"Radiant Mercury bridges a gap in intelligence sharing," Jim Quinn, Lockheed Martin's Information Systems and Global Services-Defense representative, said in a statement.
"Since developing the system in 1992, we have met the operational needs of our customers throughout the world. We will continue to evolve the system to ensure that critical data is accessible to those who need it most."
