HUNT VALLEY, Md., July 7 (UPI) -- AAI has unveiled its new small unmanned aircraft system in a move to meet the U.S. Navy's Small Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System/Tier II program requirements.
U.S. company AAI announced the unveiling of its Aerosonde Mark 4.7 small UAS technology designed with advanced ground or shipboard automated launch and recovery capabilities and a small footprint for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions in small or confined areas.
AAI developed the Aerosonde Mark 4.7 as part of an effort to be selected for the joint Navy and Marine Corps Small Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System/Tier II program.
"We are confident that our Aerosonde Mark 4.7 system meets the unique Navy and Marine Corps requirements for a small, tactical solution both today and well into the future," Steven Reid, AAI vice president of unmanned aircraft systems, said in a statement.
