NAWCWD contracts Jacobs-led team

PASADENA, Calif., June 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. to provide the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division with engineering services.

U.S. company Jacobs announced it will lead a team including Aegir Systems, Qualis Corp., New Directions Technologies Inc. and Systems Application & Technologies Inc. to support the NAWCWD.

Under the five-year $170.6 million deal, the Jacobs-led team will provide NAWCWD with engineering support services at the Navy's China Lake and Point Mugu, Calif., weapons testing installations.

"We are very pleased to continue our successful relationship with the Navy's Weapons Division, and to contribute to the success of its programs and missions," Craig Martin, Jacobs president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"Furthermore, we especially look forward to helping our client address the challenges that come with base closure and realignment activities."
