NORTHBRIDGE, Australia, June 16 (UPI) -- Australian company ioGlobal has signed a deal to create a platform on the NSS-11 satellite to support NATO communication capabilities in Afghanistan.
ioGlobal has signed an agreement to create a new DVB IP platform on SES Americom-New Skies' NSS-11 satellite. The multiyear agreement will provide streaming voice, data and video services to soldiers operating in Afghanistan's capital Kabul.
The agreement marks the third satellite that ioGlobal and SES Americom-New Skies are working together on to support mission-critical communications capabilities for the South Asian region.
"ioGlobal and its team of dedicated professionals operate in extremely challenging environments and SES Americom-New Skies is proud to play an integral role in enabling ioGlobal to meet the vital communications needs of troops serving in Afghanistan," Deepak Mathur, vice president of South Asia and the Middle East for SES Americom-New Skies, said in a statement.
