NORWALK, Conn., June 4 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Emcor Group Inc. to provide electrical systems support at the Naval Air Station North Island.
U.S. company Emcor says its Dynalectric San Diego subsidiary received the contract. Under the deal, Dynalectric San Diego will provide electrical conversion services at the Navy's Berth Lima facility at Naval Air Station North Island in California.
Officials say the electrical work at Berth Lima is part of an effort to prepare the installation for future work on Nimitz Class Aircraft Carriers.
"It's an honor to have been chosen by the Department of the Navy to work on this project," Philip Petersen, Dynalectric San Diego president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"Performing this important project for our country to the Navy's demanding timelines, exacting technical standards, and rigid specifications is exactly the type of work where we excel, providing results that our track record proves to be of the highest standard."
