EXTON, Pa., May 13 (UPI) -- Defense Solutions Inc. has signed an agreement to become the exclusive distributor of Dynamic Defense Materials armored technologies in Iraq.
U.S. company Defense Solutions and anti-blast structures developer DDM have signed a distribution agreement. As part of the deal, Defense Solutions will become the exclusive distributor of DDM's trademarked McCurdy's Armor in Iraq.
According to a news release, McCurdy's Armor is a portable armored-wall system designed to be easily set up by a three-person crew to counter mortars and other ballistic threats in combat zones.
"Defense Solutions provides quality equipment that affords superior protection on the battlefield, and we believe that DDM's McCurdy's Armor fits that requirement," Timothy Ringgold, Defense Solutions chief executive, said in a statement.
"As responsibility for multiple checkpoints shifts to Iraqi security forces, we anticipate a significant demand for McCurdy's Armor."
