Juniper to support WIN-T program

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 28 (UPI) -- Juniper Networks Inc. has been selected by General Dynamics to support the company's contract with the Army's Warfighter Information Network-Tactical program.

U.S. company and high-performance networking infrastructure developer Juniper was selected to join the General Dynamics C4 Systems contractor team. General Dynamics is a prime contractor for the Army's WIN-T program. The program is designed to offer troops a fully mobile, tactical communications network.

Juniper said it will provide its router technologies for the General Dynamics team to interface between routers and radios supporting the WIN-T program.

"Juniper's proven, high-performance networking solutions have met WIN-T requirements for standards-based solutions in a very demanding, tactical environment," Bob Fortna, Juniper Networks Defense Sector vice president, said in a statement.

"Juniper routers are helping to ensure that highly reliable, secure and extensible networks are delivering the right information, at the right time, while supporting full interoperability among current, joint, allied, coalition, (Defense Information Systems Network) and public networks."
