PRINCETON, N.J., April 23 (UPI) -- U.S. company DRS Technologies has signed a deal renewing space on SES Americom-New Skies' satellite fleet to support global military communications.
U.S. satellite services provider SES said the contract renews the connectivity of DRS Technologies' Global Communications Network. Under the agreement, DRS Technologies will use 160 megahertz of satellite capacity for its global networks.
Officials said the satellite-services renewal by DRS Technologies will utilize C-band and Ku-band capacity supporting government agencies and military forces with mission-critical communications.
"Our Global Communications Network is built with the best, most reliable technologies and platforms available so that we can meet the stringent demands of military and commercial customers operating in some of the toughest environments in the world," Jim Scott, DRS Technologies vice president and Global Enterprise Solutions general manager, said in a statement.
