Rave Computer launches new rugged servers

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., April 9 (UPI) -- Rave Computer announced the launch of a new ruggedized computer solution designed to meet U.S. Defense Department requirements.

Michigan-based Rave has released its 1U Xeon Seaburg Aluminum Short-Depth Rugged Rackmount and 3U Blackford Rugged Rackmount computer solutions.

Rave, a commercial-off-shelf provider of computer solutions, said the two rugged rackmount servers can be customized for integration into the Defense Department's aircraft, tactical vehicles and naval vessels.

"Our 1U and 3U servers are excellent additions to Rave's product line because of their versatility and design to fit various military deployments," Dave Burnett, Rave director of engineering, said in a statement.

"These lightweight, short-depth systems can be modified to meet unique environmental requirements such as shock, vibration, temperature and space."
