DULUTH, Ga., April 8 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has awarded DataPath Inc. a follow-on contract for the delivery of additional MobiLink systems used to support communications in combat.
U.S. company and satellite and wireless communications solutions developer DataPath was awarded a contract from the Army for eight more of its mSAT-C2V MobiLink communication-on-the-move systems. The MobiLink technology will be integrated into mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles in combat environments.
Officials said the MobiLink system quickly installs in MRAPs to support command-and-control vehicle communications with an unbroken satellite link even while on the move without interference from military jammers during battlefield operations.
"DataPath's MobiLink (communication-on-the-move) systems have been rapidly delivered and successfully tested, and they are now operational on the battlefield," Steve Lindeman, DataPath business operations vice president, said in a statement.
"The driving concern of this effort by the Army is improving situational awareness and mission effectiveness of forward-deployed war fighters."
