Company officials said the MegaMatcher Accelerator offers security authorities high-speed biometric fingerprint- and face-matching search capabilities, including fingerprint-matching speeds "exceeding 10 million fingerprints per second."

"Matching speed is a critical factor for many large-scale biometric applications, such as duplicate searches in voter databases and border control, among others," Algimantas Malickas, Neurotechnology chief executive, said in a statement.

"MegaMatcher Accelerator provides a radical increase in matching speed, enabling implementation of applications that were difficult or even impossible to implement before."
