BANGALORE, India, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Textron Systems has partnered with QuEST Global to establish an economic zone in India for aerospace and defense companies to develop.
Textron announced a partnership with QuEST to develop a 300-acre site designed to attract aerospace and defense companies along with industrial and automotive industries.
Officials say the future site, endorsed by India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will be called the QuEST Global Special Economic Zone and will be located in Belgaum, India.
"With growing demands for state-of-the-art defense services and solutions, India is a key country in a region that is important to our international growth," Frank Tempesta, Textron Systems president and chief executive officer of its defense and intelligence segment, said in a statement.
"We look forward to partnering with the Indian Government, the Indian Armed Forces and QuEST in strengthening India's defenses."
