ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted CACI International Inc. to support Defense Department training and simulation initiatives.
U.S. company CACI was selected by the Army to support its Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation. As prime contractor, CACI will support PEO STRI's evolving training requirements as part of the Omnibus Contract II contract vehicle.
Officials say CACI, which received one of 118 available prime awards, will deploy its Distributed Simulation Lab to provide realistic battlefield simulation training along with search and rescue scenarios, among others required by the PEO STRI.
"The vital modeling and simulation capabilities that CACI is able to provide through this award from PEO STRI offer the added benefit of supporting efforts in homeland security and asymmetric warfare," Paul Cofoni, CACI president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"This is an important step in providing our nation with expanded capabilities to help meet the challenges of global terrorism."
