Vizada to provide Army Corps with SATCOM

WASHINGTON, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Delta Wave Communications Inc. has contracted Vizada for the company to supply satellite communications services to the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.

Global satellite communications solutions provider Vizada was awarded a contract worth up to $3 million per year for three years from Delta Wave. Under the deal, Vizada will support the Army Corps of Engineers with its Inmarsat and Iridium mobile satellite communications services.

Officials say Vizada services will enable the Army Corps of Engineers to transmit broadband data and simultaneous voice calls from a laptop-sized terminal and handheld mobile telephone from anywhere in the world.

"Vizada continues to enhance its service and solution offerings to meet the rapidly changing needs of customers such as Army Corps of Engineers," Bob Baker, Vizada president, said in a statement.
