The award, which recognizes achievements in technological innovation and development, among other criteria, was given to ITT for its Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio Systems. The SINCGARS radios are used as part of the U.S. Army's Combat Net Radio and were recognized as advancing communication for soldiers on the ground and tactical networking between soldiers, sensors and unmanned systems.

"ITT's ubiquitous SINCGARS radios not only enhance informational superiority but also save war fighters' lives," Garrick Ngai, Frost & Sullivan industry analyst, said in a statement.

"Critical to SINCGARS' continued growth and relevance on the modern battlefield are the successive enhancements made in size, weight, power and software architecture that enable users to do more with less."
