Upcoming iPhone said to have larger screen

NEW YORK, April 10 (UPI) -- The next iPhone, which may be dubbed the iPhone 5, will have a 4-inch display and a brand new design, a U.S. tech industry analyst says.

Brian White with Topeka Capital Markets in New York City predicted in a note to investors Monday the next iPhone will utilize unibody construction in addition to the larger screen, informationweek.com reported.

The iPhone 5 will be the most significant upgrade for the iPhone yet, White told his clients, adding his information on the new phone was gathered on a recent trip to Asia where he met with component suppliers in China and Taiwan.

Suppliers in Asia are already preparing for the iPhone 5's launch this year, he said.

Similar rumors of a larger screen and unibody construction had been circulating in the weeks leading up to the iPhone 4S launch, informationweek.com pointed out.

White said he thinks the new iPhone will hit the market in August or September, while other rumors have put the launch anytime between June and October.
