Peregrina and Chipilo cheeses recalled

WASHINGTON, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of some Peregrina- and Chipilo-brand cheese products because of possible bacterial contamination.

The Peregrina Cheese Corp. in New York said the products, all manufactured in its Brooklyn plant, might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.
