Even more peanut products are recalled

WASHINGTON, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- More U.S. companies are announcing peanut-related product recalls in the midst of a nationwide Salmonella outbreak.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the contamination occurred at a Peanut Corp. of American plant in Georgia, which produced peanuts, peanut butter and peanut paste for numerous manufacturers of candies, cookies, pet snacks, cereals and other products.

Major brands of peanut butter sold in jars are not included in the recalls.

The latest recalls included:

--The Walgreen Co.: Cafe W-brand trail mix containing peanuts sold in Walgreens stores nationwide, including Marathon, Super energy and Cranberry Crunch mixes.

--The Hershey Import Co.: Certain lots of snacks sold under the Grateful Harvest, Woodfield Farms, Woodstock Farms, Express Snacks, Bridgehampton, Full Circle, Nature's Promise and Sun Harvest brands. The company also recalled bulk packages of various peanuts and trail mixes. Hershey Import is not affiliated with The Hershey Co.

--The Hain Celestial Group Inc.: Certain ethnic Gourmet-brand frozen foods that contain peanut products.

--Cherrydale Manufacturing LLC: All peanuts and peanut products, sold under the Bartons, Cherrydale Farms and Haddington Farms brands distributed across the United States and Canada.

--ISS Research LLC: Certain lots of OhYeah!-brand candy bars containing peanuts or peanut butter.

--Forward Foods LLC: Detour-brand candy bars that contain peanuts.

--The Thrift Products Co.: All sizes of its Thrifty-brand honey roasted and dry roasted peanuts.

--Bear Stewart Corp.: Bear's-brand peanut butter cookies.

--The Palmer Candy Co.: Certain lots of Eagle-, Casey's General Store-, Shurfine- and HyVee-brand peanut products.
