Discovery astronauts complete spacewalk

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Discovery astronauts Friday added a new room to the International Space Station during the first of five spacewalks planned for Expedition 16.

Mission Specialists Scott Parazynski and Doug Wheelock spent more than six hours outside the space station, helping the Expedition 16 crew install the Harmony module in a temporary location on the ISS and preparing the P6 truss for relocation, NASA said Friday in a release.

The station robotic arm operators removed Harmony from the payload bay and moved it to its position on the space station.

Mission Specialist Paolo Nespoli coordinated spacewalk activities while Mission Specialists Stephanie Wilson and Clay Anderson and Flight Engineer Daniel Tani were at the controls of the station’s Canadian-built robotic arm, NASA said.
