ATLANTA, May 13 (UPI) -- Two male whale sharks are expected to arrive at the Georgia Aquarium from Taiwan next month.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on the approval of the transfer to the aquarium. Known for their gigantic size, the two whale sharks reportedly weigh 1,750 pounds each.

The whale sharks' arrival would raise the number of the creatures at the aquarium to five. The whale sharks will be placed in the football field-sized Ocean Voyager exhibit.

In January, the Journal-Constitution reported, a male whale shark died at the Georgia Aquarium. The aquarium has since curbed its use of a chemical in the tank to prevent parasites, which is believed to have caused appetite loss and led to force-feeding.
