NASA to announce Discovery launch date

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., June 14 (UPI) -- NASA officials are conducting tests at the Kennedy Space Center to see if the Space Shuttle Discovery is ready for launch.

The results of the assessment as well as the overall Flight Readiness Review and a possible launch date will be announced during a Saturday news conference at the Kennedy Space Center.

Participants in the news conference will include NASA Administrator Michael Griffin, Associate Administrator for Space Operations Bill Gerstenmaier, Space Shuttle Program Manager Wayne Hale and NASA Launch Director Mike Leinbach.
