Human Rights Campaign gets show on XM

WASHINGTON, June 9 (UPI) -- The Human Rights Campaign and XM Satellite Radio announced Thursday the launch of a new, live talk show hosted by HRC President Joe Solmonese.

The show called "The Agenda with Joe Solmonese" premiering July 17 on XM Live (XM Channel 200) from 6 to 8 p.m. EST will feature news from politics, entertainment and cultural to interviews with newsmakers, celebrities, and listener call-ins, as well as guests who include Cyndi Lauper, George Takei, and Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis.

Solmonese will also be joined by the show's producer, former radio talk show host Mary Breslauer each week, a former HRC board member and longtime GLBT activist.

The debut show will coincide with the Gay Games in Chicago, and feature live coverage of the game and a look at being GLBT in the city.

"This is a unique opportunity to engage millions of Americans in a real conversation about what it means to be gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender today," said Solmonese. "Our goal has always been to engage more Americans in a dialogue about fairness and equality, and XM's more than 6.5 million subscribers give us an incredible reach into rural as well as urban American homes and cars."
