Shake-up at Microsoft's Windows unit

REDMOND, Wash., March 24 (UPI) -- Microsoft is reorganizing its Windows unit by replacing the top manager of its flagship software operation.

Steven Sinofsky will be replacing Jim Allchin effective immediately, even though Allchin will continue to oversee the development of Windows Vista. Microsoft announced earlier in the week that it would have to delay the release of Vista until early next year due to technical difficulties.
