U.K. will cut its CO2 emissions

SEATTLE, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- The United Kingdom's senior science adviser said Friday his country will cut its carbon dioxide emissions by 60 percent unilaterally by 2050.

David King announced the new policy at a science meeting in Seattle, saying while the policy represents a difference with the United States government on the issue of global warming, "we would be very happy to discuss alternatives."
