DALLAS, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Four months after surgeons in Texas separated twin Egyptian boys joined at the head, they are looking forward to moving out of the hospital.
Early last October, doctors at Medical City North Texas in Dallas separated Ahmed and Mohamed Ibrahim who had been connected at the tops of their heads, the Dallas Morning News said Wednesday.
Since then they have both begun learning to walk and talk, the result of a daily therapy and exercise regimen.
Once the 2-year-olds receive special protective head gear, they are expected to move into a nearby residential facility.
For parents Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim and Sabah Abu el-Wafa, things like hearing a belly laugh from their boys, watching them kick a ball or take just one step are nothing less than rapturous.
"This happiness -- if we would distribute it to everyone in the U.S. -- it would be more than enough for everyone," says Ibrahim.
