Mental decline risk in bypass not certain

WüRZBURG, Germany, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Contrary to previous research, coronary artery bypass patients showed no decline in mental functioning five years after the surgery, physicians at Würzburg University Hospital report. Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and Duke University, Durham, N.C., had indicated significant mental declines five years after bypass operations.
