Govt likely to modify smallpox strategy

WASHINGTON, June 11 (UPI) -- The government appears likely to change its strategy for smallpox vaccination, Anthony Fauci, director of the national institute of allergy and infectious diseases, told a Congressional committee. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently is reconsidering its strategy and probably will decide at least to vaccinate emergency medical personnel and other first responders, Fauci said.
