Cockpit security rules head to FAA

WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Aviation groups Friday endorsed enhanced cockpit door security standards, sending the proposed regulations to the Federal Aviation Administration for formal action. FAA officials said the rule could go into effect in about six months, but an airline organization said it would implement the standards as soon as possible.
