Rose McGowan shares book cover, release date for upcoming memoir 'Brave'

Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Rose McGowan shared on Twitter Monday the book cover and release date for her upcoming memoir titled Brave.

The cover features the back of McGowan's head as she shaves off her hair using clippers. The memoir is set for release on Jan. 30 from publisher HarperOne.

Described as both a memoir and a manifesto, Brave will chronicle McGowan's path to becoming an activist "who is determined to expose the truth about the entertainment industry, dismantle the concept of fame, shine a light on a multibillion-dollar business built on systemic misogyny, and empower people everywhere to wake up and be brave."

"Hello fellow human, pleased to meet you. My name is Rose McGowan and I am BRAVE. I want you to be too," the actress said of the book in a statement. "My life, as you will read, has taken me from one cult to another, the biggest cult of all: Hollywood. Brave is the story of how I fought my way out of these cults and reclaimed my life. I want to help you do the same."

McGowan, who has been at the center of the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault scandal, was among the several women who told the New York Times about the film producer's sexual misconduct.

The 44-year-old has since used Twitter to slam Weinstein and others in Hollywood accused of sexual misconduct including Kevin Spacey.

Recently, McGowan spoke out against a warrant for her arrest issued in January after airport police said they found traces of narcotics in her belongings. "Are they trying to silence me?" she said of the warrant.
